November 15th 2012, Vilamoura, Portugal – The International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) named the Italian Region of VENETO as the 2013 Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year. The announcement headlined the organization’s Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner on the final night of the annual International Golf Travel Market.
The Award
The Councilor of Tourism of the Region of Veneto, Mr. Marino Finozzi received the Award for Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year together with representatives of the Golf In Veneto Association. This award represents a great honour and recognition for this important Italian region.
The IAGTO Awards were established in 2000 to reward a few exceptional contributions to the world of golf travel. The Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year is voted for by the International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA), incorporating 159 of the world’s leading golf travel journalists in 33 countries.
The region of Veneto offers golf tourists:
