Membership Criteria

IAGTO applies strict criteria to all applications for membership. IAGTO frequently rejects membership due to non-compliance with these criteria. Every year companies actually take IAGTO membership criteria into account when developing their business in order to be able to become members, therefore the criteria have a positive effect on the industry at large.

The membership criteria for your own category is presented below and you can view the criteria for other categories by clicking on the relevant links below that.

Membership Criteria for IAGTO Membership Category: Golf Tour Operator (B2C Services)

For the purposes of IAGTO membership, we define a 'Golf Tour Operator' as a company that sells golf holidays direct to the consumer/golfer (B2C).

Prior to membership application, a Golf Tour Operator must have been trading in compliance with all relevant travel regulations (in its country of operation) for at least 1 year. For example, this might include having Financial Failure Insurance.

IAGTO must to be notified if any of the company’s owners, directors, managers or senior employees have held the position of company director in any other golf tour operator that has previously ceased trading. IAGTO reserves the right to deny membership under such circumstances.

Applicants must be in compliance with IAGTO's Code of Conduct.

IAGTO may request references from suppliers and/or other verification documents.
