Ant and Dec Tee Up With Britain’s Golf Talent

TV’s most popular presenters test their skills at Golf Live and The Celebrity Cup

Britain’s Got Talent presenters Ant and Dec will find out if they have true golfing talent in front of a packed gallery at Celtic Manor’s Golf Live and the 2013 Celebrity Cup.

Originally asked to present the trophy on Sunday 12th May, Ant and Dec are unable to commit as they have been nominated for two TV BAFTA awards and attending the awards ceremony in London on that evening.  They have instead agreed to play a much more active part at the star-studded event on the Saturday, and attend the fund-raising Celebrity Gala Dinner at Celtic Manor in the evening.

The most popular double act on TV will join Ryder Cup legend Colin Montgomerie in front of the crowds in the main theatre of the event at 3pm on Saturday 11th May, at The Celtic Manor Resort. Accustomed to watching others perform on Britain’s Got Talent, Ant and Dec will put themselves under the spotlight in a ‘nearest the pin’ and ‘straightest drive’ competition.

Colin said: “We’re delighted that Ant & Dec are coming back to Celtic Manor to join in the fun, and especially pleased they will now be there in the evening to support The Elizabeth Montgomerie Foundation alongside the 24 Celebrities representing their countries, it’s going to be a great day and a truly entertaining evening”

Ant and Dec are not the only major stars appearing at the event, Britain’s only golf and lifestyle weekend.  With the final names to be announced in the next few days, The Celebrity Cup already features the following stars from the worlds of sport and showbiz:

England
- Olympic hero Sir Steve Redgrave
- Dragons Den Entrepreneur Peter Jones
- Rugby World Cup winner Matt Dawson
- Model and TV personality Jodie Kidd
- Hollywood actor Matthew Goode

Wales
- Comedian Rob Brydon
- Movie star Ioan Gruffudd
- Daybreak TV presenter Gethin Jones
- Athlete turned One Show reporter Iwan Thomas
- This Morning TV presenter Matt Johnson

Scotland
- Football legend Kenny Dalglish
- Former Scotland and Lions Captain Gavin Hastings
- BBC Match of the Day’s Alan Hansen
- Tennis doubles champion Jamie Murray
- Former Scotland rugby star Kenny Logan

Ireland
- Football manager Martin O’Neill
- Former Westlife singer Brian McFadden
- Boyzone band member and singer Keith Duffy

They will all be competing for national pride in a four nations tournament which features a round-robin series of four-ball-better-ball matches, culminating in a grand final on Sunday afternoon.

As well as The Celebrity Cup, the golf at the Golf Live skills theatres will be an equally unmissable feature for any golf fan, where Montgomerie, Denmark’s tour star Soren Kjeldsen, leading coach Simon Holmes, England’s former world long driving champion Joe Miller and trick shot artist Paul Barrington will all be demonstrating their amazing skills at the world’s best interactive golf show, hosted by TV’s Andrew Cotter and Di Dougherty

The public will also be able to take part in the nearest the pin and straight drive challenges as well as get themselves custom-fitted for the latest golfing equipment from the leading brands. A large tented village hosts everything golf from clothing and accessories to the world’s most-visited destinations for a golfing break.

To account for the change in Ant and Dec’s schedule, anyone who has already purchased general admission tickets for the Sunday of the event will be given free access to the Saturday as well.  Tickets for Golf Live and The Celebrity Cup start from £15 and gala dinner tickets are available from £150.
