KOTA PERMAI GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB dedication to excellence was recognized last week when the Club was announced as the Winner of Best Course in Malaysia and Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club emerged as the 2nd runner up in the glitzy Asian Golf Awards 2014. The Gala Awards was staged at the iconic Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore over a two day golf summit from November 14- 15. The Asian Golf Awards is widely recognized as the premier annual poll of golfing establishments in the Asia Pacific region. The Summit saw leading figures from the golf industry worldwide converge for two days of informative talks by world renowned speakers.
Over a total of 5 new categories were introduced this year and Horizon Hills individuals such as Mr. Ong Seng Kiat has been voted as Best Golf Course Superintendent of The Year 2nd runner up, Mr. Mohd Yusri bin Mat Isa- Best Director of Golf Operations of The Year 1st runner up and Mr. Abdul Najib bin Yahya - Best Club Caddie of The Year 1st runner up. Mike Sebastian Chief Executive Officer of the Asia Pacific Golf Group, the owner of the Asian Golf Awards programme said, “We believe that our industry is all about people and the quality of service they offer to golfers and we feel that the time has come for us to recognize the people behind the wonderful golf experiences that we get to enjoy in Asia.”
Tang Meng Loon of Gamuda Land Clubs Group General Manager of Club Operations and Townships said, “I attribute the Clubs success to the commitment and dedication of our staffs as well as the enduring support and cooperation by our members. This international recognition has definitely spurred us to strive harder in working relentlessly towards maintaining Kota Permai and Horizon Hills as one of the top premier golf clubs in the Asia Pacific region”.
Mike Sebastian said of Kota Permai and Horizon Hills achievements; "The Asian Golf Awards is in its fifteenth year and it is the only awards programme of its kind that covers the entire golf industry in the Asia Pacific region. To be recognized in this programme is a major achievement in itself and for Kota Permai to have earned the distinction of being voted the best in Malaysia is testimony to the high standards that it sets. This is a great tribute to both the management and team at the club for what they do to offer a golfing experience that is world class."
