68th Senior PGA Field List Annouced

Two-time Masters winner Ben Crenshaw, two-time U.S. Open Champion Curtis Strange, 1991 Ryder Cup Players, Mark O’Meara, Raymond Floyd, Lanny Wadkins and Chip Beck , and Champions Tour crowd favorites, Peter Jacobsen and Fuzzy Zoeller are the latest to commit to the 68th Senior PGA Championship at
The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort

List now includes 20 players with major championship titles and nine former Senior PGA Champions


KIAWAH ISLAND, SC – With the addition of two-time Masters winner Ben Crenshaw, two-time U.S. Open Champion Curtis Strange, 1991 Ryder Cup team members, Mark O’Meara (with two major championships), Raymond Floyd (with three major championships), Lanny Wadkins (with one major championship) and Chip Beck as well as Champions Tour crowd favorites, Peter Jacobsen and Fuzzy Zoeller (with two major championships), the field of the 68th Senior PGA Championship is shaping up to be one of the strongest in the event’s long history.  The event will take place on The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Golf Resort May 22 - 17, 2007.

“The field for this event continues to get better and better,” said Brett Sterba, Championship Director.  “With a long list of some of the greatest players in the history of golf, including the returning Ryder Cup team members taking another crack at the demanding Ocean Course, this event is sure to provide exciting viewing..”

Since 1937, golf’s best professionals have been competing for the Senior PGA Championship’s coveted Alfred S. Bourne Trophy. Past champions include Gene Sarazen, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, Raymond Floyd, Tom Watson and Hale Irwin.
