The Club always welcomes visitors to play in their Open Tournaments which are every month over the golfing year. Participating in this Tournament were players from the South, UK, Norway, Italy and as far afield as the USA. For the participating Club Members the Tournament counted towards the Golf Federation’s Merit table which made it all the more crucial to gain those winning points. Nearly 70 players participated and the course was looking fantastic, the sun shone and Spring had sprung in Cyprus!
It is always a popular social Tournament and event at Korineum with a wonderful sponsored 19th hole for all the players comprising of a Cocktail Reception & Prize Giving. Korineum Members enjoyed socialising with the Sponsors and visitors before proceedings got underway with a welcome speech from Ertuğ Shevket.
In addition to the main prizes the sponsors also sponsored holes 2 & 18 offering a bottle of Pasqua Collezione Valpociella wine for golfers who parred the second and a bottle of Grant’s Whisky to those who parred the final hole. Twenty lucky Men picked up a prize bottle.

Today the second and third generation are working together to keep going the improvement in the company. Alessandro having learned golf as a child and now playing off 8 handicap took part in the Tournament and won the Longest Drive for the Men.
For the Prize Giving ceremony Soner Yetkılı in his capacity as North Cyprus Golf Federation President ran proceedings. Representatives for Grants whisky and Pasqua wine together with Korineum Manager Umut Gürtunç were invited to present the prizes.
The competition was a tight finish with Nick Grant (Korineum Tennis Coach) showing his talent also in the golfing game by beating Feridun Kılıç.
