Sofitel Angkor Phokeetra Golf & Spa Resort awarded during the 20th Annual IAGTO Awards

Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort has been named IAGTO Asian Golf Resort of the Year 2020 during the International Golf Travel Market (IGTM) in Marrakech, Morocco. The award was voted for by golf tour operator members of global golf tourism industry organisation IAGTO, many of whom experienced the resort during the Asia Golf Tourism Convention, held earlier this year in Siem Reap.

Cambodia was also awarded the title of Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year for 2020 at the gala dinner for the 20th annual IAGTO Awards.

Pascal Tadin, General Manager of Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort commented: “Since 2000, Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort has provided French excellence blended with Khmer hospitality. The warm and genuine service is our signature and this philosophy is extended to our golf course, Phokeethra Country Club. As the first international golf resort in Cambodia, our experience taught us, with exigency, that guest satisfaction and high quality standards are essential ingredients. For years, our golf course and the hotel have been, alongside that, contributing to the increasing visibility of Siem Reap as an international tourist destination. This award is an outstanding recognition which depicts our savoir-faire and our dedication towards our guests.”

Fabrice Ho, Golf Manager of Phokeethra Country Club added: “This is an exciting recognition for both our resort and golf course. From a destination perspective, I sincerely hope it will bring more players to Cambodia and discover our challenging course. At Phokeethra Country Club, we offer a unique and genuine golf experience with the warmth of Cambodian people.”
