No player was left without a delicious taste of Malaga Virgen in the first tournament Malaga Virgen that was held on May the 30th at Lauro Golf.

Our most international wine was present during the whole journey, from the moment of arrival each participant was given a small bottle of genuine Malaga Virgen. Besides during the game the players were able to taste other specialities of the brand, like Tres Leones or Cartojal, together with a tapa, courtesy of the club.Finally at the prize giving there was a raffle of dozens of bottles.

The winery of this brand was founded at the end of the 19th century(1885), by Salvador López López, an entrepreneur and enthusiast of the wine world, who used the wines made in his own presses. At present Malaga wines have received several World Awards especially for their two years oak age wines all over the world.

The club also wanted to pay tribute to the person who for many years was the president of Lauro Golf, Mr. Jorge Maldonado Eloy-García, for his ten years of dedication since the opening of the course in 1992 until 2002. As a curiosity, the property where Lauro Golf is located, was once owned by the Maldonado family, in which George himself was born.

The competition was a success from the beginning to the end. The modality of the tournamnet was Stableford Individual starting from one hole. At the end of the competition the much awaited prize giving took place, held by the caddy masters of Lauro Golf Melissa Gallardo and Sani Alba, accompanied by the Malaga Virgen Representative and former worker of Lauro Golf, Mariela, and of course Jorge Maldonado.

The first position was crowned by a lady Ms.Aurora Pérez Alarcón who made the highest score with 38 points and in third position was classified the manager of Lauro Golf Mr. Carlos Pitarch Little with a final score of 37 points.
