The Moroccan National Tourist Office launches the Morocco Golf Championship in the UK

The Moroccan National Tourist Office in London “MNTO London” is to launch the Morocco Golf Championship in the UK.
The Tour will host ten golf tournaments sponsored by the MNTO, with the winners and runners-up progressing to the grand final at the London Golf Club on October 1. Aspiring amateurs, men and women, who aim to qualify for the final and win prizes that include golfing holidays in Morocco.
Under the theme of Golf in Morocco, the series will enhance the image of Morocco as The Kingdom of Golf, a nation with more than 40 courses, where every major city has at least two with others about to open or under construction.
Marrakech, for instance, now has five courses by internationally acclaimed architects such as Jack Nicklaus and Kyle Phillips, and two others are scheduled to open in October with more to follow next year.
The cities of Rabat, Agadir, Casablanca, Meknes and Fez also boast multiple courses by major architects and Gary Player has joined the list with courses at two golf resorts, Mazagan, near Casablanca, and Mogador, near the charming resort town of Essaouira, mid-way down Morocco's 2,000 mile Atlantic coastline, where Player is currently building a second course. Both resorts are all-inclusive and de luxe and are ranked among the finest in the world. The European Tour “HASSAN II GOLF TROPHY” and the Ladies European Tour “LALLA MERYEM GOLF CUP” are both staged at the same time each year in AGADIR
So the game has become a major tourist attraction and an important addition to the local economies of each city. With a host of top class hotels and Riads, Morocco is an ideal destination for winter golfing holidays but the pleasant climate, and inexpensive caddies, means play is possible year-round.
