Piemonte Top 4 Golf in Italy

14 May 2010

The Molinari Brothers are from Turin, and that’s one of the reasons why Piemonte is “The Home of Golf in Italy”, another reason is that the regional golf courses are the best in Italy.

The Royal Park - I Roveri  Home of the BMW Italian Open (Turin) is the most beautiful golf course in Italy, along with Biella - Le Betulle: it’s the verdict of the Italian magazine "Il Mondo del Golf” which every year draws the ranking of the most spectacular fairways.
3rd Castelconturbia (Novara)
4th Golf Torino (Turin).

The prize giving has been held during the BMW Italian Open 2010, just won by the Swedish player Fredrik Andersson Hed at the Royal Park in Turin.

Golfing in Piemonte

Turin airport has direct connections with the main European cities, from Madrid to Moscow. Castelconturbia and other golf courses like Bogogno, in the Lake area are located few miles from Malpensa Milan Airport, with international (many low cost) and intercontinental connections.

Piemonte is also connected to Germany with the train + car service (DB Autozug).

Choosing Piedmont means golfing on hills surrounded by the famous Barolo and Asti Spumante vineyards; in the wonderful landscape of Lake Maggiore; under the benevolent eye of a millenary abbey like Sacra di San Michele or in the Royal Park of Reggia di Venaria: the magnificent Savoy Residence. 18 courses with 18/27/36 holes, many of them offer a real full immersion with a “stay and play” solution in small and medium-sized hotels, some located in old villas or renovated homesteads, with typical restaurants where the excellent Piedmontese food and wine quality is absolute.

A holiday in Piedmont also means enjoying Turin: the first Italian Capital City, rich in art and culture, the lively events and initiatives, going shopping in downtown boutiques or in the big outlets. For food & wine lovers, autumn, with the several wine and food fairs, Alba White Truffle Fair and Salone del Gusto (Turin’s Gourmet Fair - October 21/25) is the best time to visit the region.
