Costa Calida's natural spa gains safe award

Murcia’s award-winning natural spa has been given the Safe Tourism seal of approval to continue to provide some traditional rejuvenation qualities for visitors.

The Balneario of Archena has been attracting guests since Roman times with luxurious water temperatures rising from a spring which is believed to have remained stored underground for around 15,000 years.

In modern times, the thermal baths complex just outside of Murcia now features a full range of leisure options with an abundance of health and beauty treatments, providing relaxation and medicinal qualities for spa enthusiasts. Hotels and restaurants at the venue all make for an ideal combination for any stay.

Amid the ongoing precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Archena Spa has now been rewarded for its extensive efforts to make the facilities as safe as possible with the recognised national certification after passing the audit by inspectors.

It means guests and visitors will be able to continue to enjoy the experience with water temperatures of 52.5 degrees Celsius and a high mineral content, which makes it particularly beneficial for treating sore joints and the skin.

The Archena Spa was selected as best spa in Spain, Portugal and Andorra at the Wellness Experience Awards 2019, while the Hotel Thalasia received its own recognition at the same awards as Best Thermal Therapy, for its Water Dream therapy.
