Kota Permai Golf & Country Club - 2015 Championship

Kota Permai Golf & Country Club had recently concluded the annual Club Championships event which was contested in Two points start-Strokeplay format. The event teed off with a good 77 participants for the Senior and Ladies category and 108 participants for the first two days of the Men’s Championship which registered a green speed of 12 feet on the Stimpmeter. Total 72 participants in the Men’s Championship made the cut for the Final day.

The Club Championships saw Mohd Isa bin Abas (5) emerged the Men’s Champion after heading into the final day on 72, on a total of three days 233, two points ahead of runner up William Cheah (3). Willie Lim (2) who fired 238 settled for third place.

Second time Ladies Champion and teen star Raeysha Surendran (4) defended her jewel by winning the Gross title with total 154, tailed by Doris Yee (10) who shot 156. The Ladies Nett category went to Loo Eng Neo (17) with total score of 146, two shots ahead of runner up Mok Soo Moi (27). The Senior champion goes to Khoo Gee Seng (7) on a two day total winning of 157 to claim the victory. Runner up Johnny Wong (6) fired 158, tailed by Gilbert Low (11) who settled for third place at 166 on countback.

Men Champion Mohd Isa bin Abas won a Titoni watch, Transview voucher and Taylormade Adidas putter, prizes worth over RM5,000. In Kota Permai’s association with Transview, Men Champion Mohd Isa had also clinched himself a one year endorsement contract as one of Transview TEAM PG Ambassador, sponsored by Transview. Mohd Isa will be along global elite golfers such as Danny Chia, Adam Blyth, Arie Irawanin in the TEAM PG squad.
Meanwhile Yong Kim Shoon who play off handicap 11; shot a Hole-In-One at Hole 6 on the final day of the Men Championship and won himself a brand new LEXUS ES250 worth over RM247,500, sponsored by UMW Toyota Motors. Elated Yong was congratulated by his flight mates and was beaming with joy.

In true Kota Permai-ian spirit, the event participants including members of the Media witnessed the Prize presentation ceremony on the finishing 18th green which saw the Senior, Ladies and Men Champion escorted on a Horse carriage for the jacket and trophy ceremony. The Championships was concluded with the prize presentation dinner on the evening of 14th June who welcomed the participants, including invited media and guests. The Management also extended their appreciation to the sponsors for their contribution in making the event a success.
