For the first time Gloria Hotels & Resorts in Belek are the main sponsor of the International Matchplay-Trophy of the Golf Union of Baden-Württemberg (BWGV), taking place from 29th to 31st of July 2015 in the golf club Sinsheim Buchenauerhof.

The operators of the Gloria Hotels & Resorts in Belek near Antalya have turned the topic golf into their credo for a long time: For instance Özaltin Holding, owner of the hotel group, was the first one, who opened a golf resort at the Turkish Riviera around Antalya. This was in the year 1997, when at the same time the golf course was launched. Today the Gloria Golf Club as the largest golf course of Turkey with 45-holes is one of the most favoured destinations for top golfers and those, who are working on it.

For this reason Gloria Hotels & Resorts also support measures outside their premises regarding junior golf. „Young talents in all segments are important for our future“, says Hatice Yalcin Karakaya, Marketing Manager of Gloria Hotels & Resorts, at the imt-press conference in the golf club Sinsheim Buchenauerhof. „Our partnership with BWGV, which we started last year, is very successful“, says Karakaya. Already more than 60 young golf talents were invited to Belek in winter and could prove their skills in-between pine trees, the Mediterranean and the Taurus. The cooperation with the BWGV was started in March 2014 and has further measures in the plan.

Among them is the support of the International Matchplay Trophy, which serves as an important message for Gloria Hotels & Resorts. „The image of golf is seen often as obsolete. With these events, we take a firm stand and show, that young people can also have fun at teeing off or at pitching and putting. Especially in our courses in Belek with sunny temperatures in the winter, while in Germany cold temperatures dominate“, Karakaya concluding.

The destination Belek, around 30 kilometers from Antalya Airport away, is one of the fastest growing golf regions of the world. Gloria Hotels & Resorts with the Gloria Golf Club are among the pioneers of Turkey regarding golf holidays. The 45-hole golf course, which is the largest one in Turkey, is one of the most favoured venues for international golf events, e.g. the European Challenge Tour. Since August 2014 Gloria Hotels & Resorts have also been preferred Partner of the PGAs of Europe and the corresponding International Team Championship (ITC).
