10th Sutera Harbour Junior Open Prize Presentation

Sutera Harbour, Kota Kinabalu, 5th December: - 93 junior golfers participated in the 10th Sutera Harbour Junior Amateur Golf Championship held from 4th to 5th December 2011 with 58 players from Sabah, 25 from Kuala Lumpur, 5 from Sarawak, 4 from Singapore and 1 from the Philippines.

The tournament was open to all junior golfers who are amateur golfers in accordance to the Rules of Amateur status issued by the R&A Rules Limited and have a USGA handicap index of 21.4 and below for boys and 32.4 and below for girls. This only applies for those who have not reached their 21st birthday on 1st January 2011. However, the organizing committee would also consider an assigned handicap by a club.

The tournament also offered exciting Hole-In-One prizes for the junior golfers:

Other sponsors of the event include 100Plus and MS3Golf who sponsored the isotonic drinks and goodies bag for the participants.

This is also the third year where Sutera Harbour Junior Amateur Open Golf Championship is introduced in the SportExcel National Junior Golf Circuit calendar.

The prize presentation ceremony held at Albatross Hall, Sutera Harbour Golf & Country Club was attended by YBhg Datuk Stan Yee Director of Sutera Harbour Resort, Mr Foo Kia Inn Director of Sutera Harbour Resort and Mr Brian Werner, General Manager of Sutera Harbour Marina, Golf & Country Club.

“The Championship aims to promote a friendly competition and good fellowship among the junior golfers not only from Kota Kinabalu but also junior golfers from out of Sabah. This will give them the opportunity to learn from each other and improve their golfing skills”, said Brian Werner during the prize presentation.
