Warren Jacklin brings group of golfers to La Cala Resort

Warren Jacklin, son of Tony Jacklin - one of the most famous English golfers of all time, has brought a group of German visitors on a week long golfing trip to La Cala Resort in Mijas, Málaga. Warren is the club pro at Baden Golf & Country Club near Heidelberg and he normally takes groups of members on away trips twice a year. This was the first time he had visited La Cala and he was impressed with the resort. “La Cala is ideal for trips with professionals. It was snowing when we left Germany and here the sun is shining and the sky is blue. The infrastructure in the complex is brilliant as everything is on-site. The hotel is fine. My group members can be demanding and they are all very happy with the hotel and the golf facilities. I also liked the three courses. They are challenging but not overly difficult for high handicappers. I definitely plan to return and would recommend it to other club professionals.”

Warren’s dad Tony won two majors. In 1969, he became the first British player to win The Open Championship for 18 years. The following season he won the U.S. Open. It was the first victory by a British player in that tournament since 1920 and remains the only one by any European in the post-World War II era. As the non-playing captain of Europe in four consecutive Ryder Cups from 1983 to 1989, he had a 2.5 - 1.5 winning record, captaining his men to their first victory for 28 years in 1985, and to their first ever victory in the United States in 1987.
