Rio Grande, Puerto Rico - Rewarding their commitment to environmental conservation, Bahía Beach Resort & Golf Club receives the highest award in the “Nature Conservation Category” given by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

The Bahía Beach Resort & Golf Club along with the St Regis Bahia Beach Resort have a very comprehensive nature conservation program that includes wildlife conservation, habitat preservation and recovery, water conservation and monitoring, invasive species control and environmental education and outreach.  In addition, both Bahia and the St Regis work hand in hand with both public and private organizations, particularly related to endangered species projects.

The IAGTO Sustainability Awards, in partnership with the Golf Environment Organization, recognize the social and environment excellence of golf resorts around the globe being known worldwide as the most important awards in the industry. The organization currently has about 2,225 members who submit their work for evaluation in order to be considered for an award. The award given to Bahía Beach will be formally presented at the official awards ceremony, taking place on the evening of October 30th in Lake Como, Italy.

Bahía Beach Resort is recognized as one of the 21 resorts around the world designated as a Certified Gold Audubon International Signature Sanctuary, the only resort in the Caribbean with this recognition.
