IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) is the global trade organisation for the golf tourism industry. Established in 1997, IAGTO's membership comprises accredited golf tour operators, golf resorts, hotels, golf courses, receptive operators, airlines, tourist boards, approved media and business partners in countries including, at its core, specialist golf tour operators in countries. It is estimated that IAGTO’s operators control over 85% of golf holiday packages sold worldwide and turnover more than €1 billion per year.

Currently, of IAGTO’s golf tour operators, more than 200 in 42 countries are already selling Asian golf destinations. During 2011/12 IAGTO is focusing its efforts on recruiting more golf tour operators and specialist golf travel agencies throughout Asia.

IAGTO has unparalleled experience of making golf tourism events work for both suppliers and operators, having first established the International Golf Travel Market back in 1998 and run hundreds of golf tourism conventions, workshops and fam trips in the past 14 years.

Whilst this is our first Convention in Asia, IAGTO has been at the heart of the golf tourism industry for 14 years and runs a similar event each year in North America (see www.iagto.com/NAC2011-review).

IAGTO launched IAGTOChina in March 2011 and has a full time representative there working with both the destination’s suppliers and the country’s golf travel agencies. IAGTO has a representative in Kuala Lumpur covering SE Asia and also Japanese representative.
