For the purposes of IAGTO membership, we define a 'Golf Tour Operator' as a company that sells golf holidays direct to the consumer/golfer.
A Golf Tour Operator must have been trading in compliance with all relevant travel regulations for at least 2 years before an application can be processed. For example, Golf Tour Operators in the European Community must be in compliance with the EC Package Travel Regulations.
Golf Tour Operators whose primary business is to sell to consumers / golfers who reside in other countries must protect those consumers against the company's potential financial failure.
IAGTO has to be notified if any of your company directors have held the position of a company director in any other golf tour operating company that has ceased trading in the past 5 years.
Operators must be able to demonstrate that they have been in compliance with IAGTO's Code of Conduct for a minimum period of 12 months before their membership can be considered.
IAGTO may request references from suppliers and/or other verification documents.
