IGTWA Membership Benefits

The International Golf Travel Writers Association (IGTWA) is administered by IAGTO, the global trade association of the golf tourism industry.

Mission Statement

  • To provide writing opportunities for IGTWA members by raising their profile amongst publications, tourist boards, golf tourism industry suppliers and golf tour operators.
  • To provide well organised golf destination press trips for IGTWA members.
  • To provide IGTWA members with access to market information.
  • To provide IAGTO members with access to reliable and experienced golf travel writers.

Membership Fees

  • IGTWA members pay a one-off membership of €125 or Dollar/Sterling equivalent.

Membership Criteria

  • You need to have written at least five golf travel articles in the past 18 months.
  • Copies of five articles published in print or on a website in the past 18 months must be supplied to IAGTO.
  • A good quality colour "head & shoulders" photograph must be supplied to IAGTO either as a photograph or peferably an electronic image (jpg).
  • Applicants may be asked to provide additional references.

Membership Benefits

  • IAGTO will encourage its members and its partner golf publications to work closely with IGTWA members for any golf travel related projects.
  • IAGTO will build and maintain the International Golf Travel Writers Association website and the IGTWA Profile Pages.
  • IGTWA members will receive a personalised Photo-Identity Membership Card.
  • Detailed profiles of each IGTWA member will be posted to the IAGTO Website in the public access Home Page section.
  • The IGTWA Profiles will include samples of golf travel articles.
  • IGTWA members will be given access to a member-only IGTWA Website. This website will give IGTWA members access to the IAGTO membership directory and various other services.
  • IGTWA members will be given preferential invitations to join Press Trips and to accompany Familiarisation Trips organised by IAGTO and its members.
  • IGTWA members qualify automatically for complimentary Registration for attending the annual International Golf Travel Market.
  • IGTWA members nominate destinations and select the winner of the "Undiscovered Golf Destination of the Year" at the annual IAGTO Awards which take place at the International Golf Travel Market.
