This week sees Braemar Golf celebrate 10 years in the golf business. From its beginnings as a strategic golf consultancy, formed by Ian Ferrier and David Dean out of Gleneagles Golf Developments, Braemar Golf has expanded steadily to become a well recognised full golf services company offering consultancy, technical services, construction management, project management and pre and post opening management and marketing.
Looking back over the past 10 years the founder and principal of the company David Dean reflected on where the business' projects have taken them "From our current base in the Home of Golf, St Andrews, we have travelled all around the world supporting clients. Our furthest assignments have taken us to China, creating the first PGA Golf Academy in Asia as well as Fiji, assisting develop the very private course on Laucala Island, which is about as far away from Scotland as possible and we can see our closest, St Andrews Links Golf Academy, by looking out of the office windows at St Andrews."
David went on to say "We have had the opportunity to work on some very exciting and challenging projects and have built over this time very strong relationships throughout the golf industry."
Ten years is a short time in the golf industry and it is only now that some of the earliest consultancy assignments are starting to come out of the ground such as The Carrick in Scotland and Navarino Resorts in Greece. The greatest achievement over these years according to Keith Haslam Braemar Golf’s managing director has been the ability to respond to clients requirements and deliver the extended range of services with professionalism, quality and integrity.
"The biggest project we have completed over the past years was the construction of the Colin Montgomerie designed course at the Royal Golf Club in Bahrain in conjunction with our local partners Nass Contracting. To be part of a team physically creating great golf courses is very satisfying" said Keith, who added, "with exciting projects currently underway such as the PGA National Russia and contracts from Scotland to the Middle East, we are well placed in what has been a difficult time for the industry and believe we will be one of the leading golf services company in Europe and beyond for at least the next 10 years".
Braemar Golf would like to thank all its employees, suppliers and golf industry relationships for the support provided over the past ten years and looks forward to the next ten years delivering high quality golf services in the best traditions of Scottish Golf all around the world.
