Palheiro Golf supports Charity event

On the 31st March Palheiro Golf in Madeira was host to a charity event, organized by the EAGLES (a group of German TV and sports celebrities, who play a series of golf tournaments throughout the year in order to raise funds for charity). Headed by Michael Stich, the famous German tennis player (a former Wimbledon, Davies Cup and Olympic gold medal winner), a field of 108 players (which included Olympic gold medal winners, world record holders etc.) took on the famous Palheiro Golf course, set up in the mountains some 500 meters above the bay of Funchal. During the week, which also included rounds on the other Madeiran golf courses, a total of 75.000 Euros was raised, all of which went towards the Michael Stich foundation in aid of HIV infected children.
